Karsh Kale

 

Described by Billboard Magazine as a “visionary composer and producer”, Karsh Kale (pronounced “Kursh Kah-lay”) is one of electronic music’s brightest stars. While his peers view Kale as a force of nature on both tabla and drums, Kale is an equally innovative producer, remixer and DJ.  With his live band, Realize, Kale has performed in front of thousands in every major city on four continents. Kale is equally renown by both fans and critics as the pioneer of a sound that captures a panorama of influences - past and future, analog and digital - bringing classical Indian music into the Western mainstream rock and electronic vernacular – or as Billboard describes, “the Asian underground of the Bronx, the Carnatic vibe of Alphabet City…and some of the most creative music out there.”  In a span of less than six years, Kale released four critically acclaimed albums on Six Degrees Records, became a founding member of the super group Tabla Beat Science, remixed countless artists, and has collaborated with Zakir Hussain, Paul Oakenfold, Anoushka Shankar, “it” Bollywood composers Salim-Sulaiman, Bill Laswell, and other mainstream pop and rock superstar artists.
