International Body Music Festival NYC debut at Lincoln Center Out of Doors on Thursday, August 12th – featuring SLAMMIN All-Body Band (Oakland, CA); Barbatuques (São Paulo, Brazil); Inuit Throatsingers Celina Kalluk & Lucie Idlout (Nunavut, Canada); and Hambone artist Derique McGee (San Francisco, CA) – Artistic Director Keith Terry

Likely the first music – people the world over stomp, clap, sing, snap and chant – music you can see, dance you can hear. The first gathering of it’s kind, The International Body Music Festival Concert is an evocative and visceral performance of traditional and contemporary artists exploring the sonic possibilities of the human instrument. The IBMF was founded by Keith Terry and produced in the Bay Area by Crosspulse, an Oakland, California arts organization.

The Third IBMF is November, 2010 in São Paulo, Brazil, hosted by Barbatuques, directed by Fernando Barba.
